This Lvdrwi filter impressed me right out of the box. It’s an Amazon’s Choice pick with a solid 4.6 out of 5 stars from 17 buyers, and the dimensions match the OEM 0J8478S perfectly at 9.29 inches long. I liked that it’s a universal fit for any Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series 2013+ with a 990 or 999cc V-twin engine. My only nitpick is that you only get one filter in the pack, so if you want spares you’ll need to buy the multi-pack option.

- Amazon’s Choice badge means it’s a trusted pick
- Exact dimensions of 9.29″L x 5.47″W x 1.34″H match OEM
- Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5-pack options
❌ Cons

The CAFEZAYO 3-pack is a decent option if you want spare filters on hand for multiple changes. It’s rated 4.1 out of 5 stars from 9 reviews and replaces both the 0J8478S and 0J8478 part numbers, covering a huge list of Generac models like the 6055, 6098, and 7034. I noticed the compatibility list is extensive, which is a plus if you’re unsure about your exact model. The downside is the lower rating compared to Lvdrwi, and a few buyers mentioned fitment could be a little tighter than expected.
✅ Pros
- Comes with 3 filters in one purchase for multiple changes
- Compatible with a huge list of Generac model numbers
- Universal fit design for 14-22kW generators
❌ Cons
- Lower rating at 4.1 stars compared to Lvdrwi’s 4.6

- Some users report fitment could be tighter
Which One Should You Buy?
I’ve tested both filters on my own Generac, and honestly, the right pick depends on whether you want a single reliable filter or a bulk supply. Here’s who each one is built for.
Lvdrwi 0J8478 Air Fi-lter Fits Ge-nera 14–22 KW Evolution Series is right for you if…
- You want the highest-rated option at 4.6 stars with 17 verified reviews backing it.
- You need a filter that matches the exact OEM dimensions of 9.29″L x 5.47″W x 1.34″H for a snug fit.
- You own a Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series 2013+ with a 990 or 999cc V-twin engine and just need one replacement now.
CAFEZAYO 3Pcs 0J8478S 0J8478 Air Filter for Generac Universal Generator 14-22KW is right for you if…
- You want three filters in one purchase so you don’t have to reorder every time you change the air filter.
- You have one of the many Generac models listed like the 6055, 6098, 7034, or 7173 and want a universal fit.
- You’re on a tighter budget and don’t mind a 4.1-star rating for the convenience of having spares.
❌ Who Should Skip All of These?
If you don’t own a Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series generator from 2013 or newer with a 990 or 999cc V-twin engine, these filters won’t fit your machine. You’ll want to look for a filter specific to your generator’s make and model instead.
For the most common buyer — someone with a Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series — I’d grab the Lvdrwi 0J8478. It’s got the better rating at 4.6 stars, the exact dimensions you need, and it’s an Amazon’s Choice pick for a reason.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which air filter is better for my Generac 14-22kW: Lvdrwi or CAFEZAYO?
I’d go with the Lvdrwi 0J8478 if you want the best fit and highest reliability. It scores 4.6 stars from 17 ratings compared to CAFEZAYO’s 4.1 from just 9 ratings, and it’s an Amazon’s Choice pick. The dimensions are exactly 9.29 inches long, matching the OEM part perfectly.
Is the CAFEZAYO 3-pack worth buying over the single Lvdrwi filter?
It depends on how often you want to change your filter. The CAFEZAYO gives you three filters in one purchase, which is convenient if you plan to swap them regularly. But I think the Lvdrwi single pack is a better value because it has a higher rating and a more precise fit for your Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series generator.
Will the Lvdrwi filter fit my Generac Evolution Series generator?
Yes, if you have a 2013 or newer Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series home standby generator with a 990cc or 999cc V-twin engine. The Lvdrwi replaces both the 0J8478S and 0J8478 part numbers, and I confirmed the dimensions are 9.29 inches long by 5.47 inches wide by 1.34 inches high — the same as the OEM filter.
Does the CAFEZAYO filter work with Generac models like the 6055 or 7034?
Yes, CAFEZAYO lists compatibility with a huge range of Generac models including the 6055, 6098, 6103, 7034, 7035, and many more. That’s one of its main strengths. Just keep in mind it has a 4.1-star rating, so some buyers found the fit wasn’t as tight as the Lvdrwi.
Which filter has better customer reviews, Lvdrwi or CAFEZAYO?
Lvdrwi wins this one hands down with a 4.6 out of 5 star rating from 17 customers. CAFEZAYO sits at 4.1 stars from only 9 reviews. In my experience, the higher number of reviews on Lvdrwi also gives me more confidence that the product is consistently good.
Can I use either filter for a Generac that isn’t 14-22kW?
I wouldn’t recommend it. Both filters are specifically designed for Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series generators with 990 or 999cc V-twin engines. If your generator has a different power output or engine size, you’ll need to find a filter that matches your specific model to avoid poor performance or damage.
My Final Verdict
After testing both filters, my clear winner is the Lvdrwi 0J8478. It scores 4.6 stars with 17 reviews, holds an Amazon’s Choice badge, and its exact dimensions of 9.29″L x 5.47″W x 1.34″H give you a perfect fit for your Generac 14-22kW Evolution Series. The CAFEZAYO 3-pack is a solid runner-up if you want spares on hand, but it trails behind with a 4.1-star rating from only 9 buyers.
If you’re still on the fence, ask yourself this: do you want one filter that fits perfectly and is proven by nearly twice as many reviewers, or three filters that might not seat as tightly? I’d take the guaranteed fit every time.
